    Re: 24p confusion

     Tommy,

This was the answer from RAYLIGHT

MXFX needs the XML file to get the starting timecode and other info.
To use MXFX you will need to get one good XML file and make a copy of
it for every clip. If you don't care about the timecode you can use an
identical copy for each one, but the file name must match the name of
the clip (eg 0001GH). The folders need to be set up as follows:

VIDEO folder contains the video MXF files eg 0001GH.MXF
CLIP folder contains the fake XML files eg 0001GH.XML
AUDIO folder contains the audio MXF files eg 0001GH00.MXF, 0001GH01.MXF etc.

    Best Regards

Essentially you create a three folders under a CONTENT folder AUDIO, VIDEO and CLIP - copy and paste from AVID MEDIAFILES your MXF media - placing video MXF files in VIDEO folders and placing MXF audio files into the AUDIO folder.  From there you create your own XML clip files.  Then drag into RAYLIGHT MXFX and it does downconvert to 23..98. It works.

Now the question is - can you take a Video Mixdown file in AVID MEDIAFILES and do the same thing?  I haven't had any success at that.  Let me know if anyone has any success with taking a Mixdowned Video file in AVID MEDIAFILES and creating a Pulldown removal in Raylight.

    Best,

    Zack

Thanks for that info, where do the XML files come from though?  I have none of those.
