    avid 351 freezez

when I connect my pd-150 on my Imac 10.3.9 it freezes allready at the beginning.

When it's not connected (firewire)...it just starts. No problems with connecting to my powerbook g4...only with the Imac an that's never happened before also....

    Any suggestions welcome!

Could be, yes. I would roll back to the approved version as a first troubleshooting step. May not solve anything but it will eliminate a variable.

Check out the OSX Cheat Sheet announcement on the top of the Forum page for the OSX, Xpress Pro and QT version matrix.

MacPro, MacBook Pro and a Cube. The Cube doesn't do much but it looks cool. [view my complete system specs]

    thanks blkdg! you're the best.

    Re: avid 351 freezez

There are third party apps that will let you uninstall QT but the easiest way is  to just do an archive and install of your OS and then upgrade only as far a 6.5.1.

No, it's not actually. It is very simple.

Just put your Panther install disc in and boot from it. In the install options window, choose "Archive and install". Also choose to preserve User and Network Data. A new copy of the OS will be installed leaving your applications and user data untouched. You  will, however, have to reinstall the Avid software after doing this.
