I am having trouble importing DVCPro HD quicktime files into Avid Media Composer. They import but play with a blank screen and just audio, no video. Even out of the system when I open them with quicktime player they only open with a white/blank screen and just audio.
If I purchase Quicktime Pro will this problem go away? Does Quicktime Pro come with the codec I need? Any other solutions you can think of?
I have a MacBook Pro 15.4"
Avid Media Composer 2.8
Quicktime Player 7.3
You need the DVCProHD QuickTime codec.
QT Pro will not solve this problem.

where would I get that, besides purchasing Final Cut Studio 2?
Try the folks that created the QT for you.
They should be able to supply the codec to you.
But even if you have the codec installed it could be that you can't import them in Avid:

Then, you have to transcode the quicktimes with a different codec or tif-sequence.
cheers
