    XDCAM>External Drive>Avid

    Hi all,

I'm on Xpress Pro, have Media Composer upgrade on the way.

I'm shooting XDCAM-HD with a friend and his camera, editing XDCAM for the first time.

Since I don't have an XDCAM camera or deck, when we wrap, he said he would move the files from the disk to an external hard drive for me to take and edit from.

Would I want the MXF files, and then follow the XDCAM workflow: proxy media, batch conform, etc? (I watched the tutorial verrrry quickly)

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Re: XDCAM>External Drive>Avid

I would segest and what for the MC up grade first

copy the XD disc files into sepret folders for exemple disc 1 no not mix up the XD files

in your MC bin import MXF file for full res.

or import the proxey files for an off line

your going to love working with XDCAM HD

just  note xpress only work in 25bit XDCAM MC will work with 35bit just fine
