    Title Quality Problem

My Avid Titles that are generated with Title Tool always look a bit soft. I brought in some text from After effects as a title and then had Avid Text do a list below that headline and the difference is incredible.

The AE titles look sharp and crisp and the Avid titles do not. They don't look terrible they just don't look as good as the AE titles.

    lets elliminate the usual suspects:

I am in Green Mode on TimeLine

I have rendered the titles as 1.1

My media creation render settings are set at tiles to be 1.1

    Any ideas?

this probably isn't your problem and is obvious, but you cannot have those titles sitting under any type of video reformat/resize tracks without it going soft fast.

Dom - curious...how would the user settings affect a title?  not a challenge, i just want to understand that way of thought.  THANKS!

Some of the Title Tool settings and parameters are tied in to the User Settings. When they get corrupt sometimes it will generate ugly looking titles.

Sorry, I don't understand what you are saying.

    Ther is no resize.

    Here is what I have.

Graphics background that is generated in AE. The animation is rendered at 1.1 in AE. And imported at 1.1 into Avid. The top of the animation says "events this month"

I am using the Avid Title Tool to list the events that month. The animation is on v1 and the tile is on v2. The tiles are rendered at 1.1

Can you please explain what you mean. Sorry I am not getting it.

    Thanks

     Jason:
Can you post 2 screen shots, one title by itself on black on the other title supered over background, so we can get a look at what you're calling "just not as good". It's kind of hard to visualize the problem. Maybe also include the same text as it appears in AE as well.

    Re: Title Quality Problem

I wuill try to post screen shots, but it looks like the titles are rendered as DV25 and the AE titles are rendered at 1.1.

    The Avid titles are soft.

    Re: Title Quality Problem

Bingo. The difference in resolutions sure accounts for the softness. DV 25 stinks, IMO.
