I'm responsible, I lite a subject poorly (I'm not a lighting designer) but I now have to need to lighten up the shadows under the eyes. I'm using Xpro any advice on how to do this would be great. Thanks!

Obviously your options are limited since it wasn't shot correctly, but you can still somewhat fix it. You can start by turning down the contrast and turning down the black level. (the opposite of "crushing" the blacks) Obviously this will effect the whole video frame, but I can't think of any other options you could use unless you have some software that has secondary color correction.
I suppose you could try to luma select the shadows and see if it will just let you turn them down. (never tried that before). I've never used Avid for stuff like this, as I bought the Studio Toolkit at videoguys.com for only $399, and it came with a great program called Avid FX that has amazing color correction tools. If you can afford it, I'd highly recommend it!
I'd go into more detail about exactly what tools to use, but I'm not at my Avid right now.
Hope this helps!

Do you have BCC? With its Lights options you get a complete second chance for lighting a scene
I have an older version of Boris but I'm not that adept with it. I appreciate all the sugestions. I'll do my best.
Hello, remembering that there are so many different ways to do this depending on your point of view.
One way would be to look at masking the area around the eyes and adjusting just that part of the picture.
Another way (which I enjoy lots) is by introducing lights within Boris. So you could put a point light around the eyes. This is possible with earlier versions of Boris too.
But there are more.
You'll have to experiment and be creative with your tools. You'll learn a lot that way also.
Goodluck.
Many Thanks! I'll be working on it later today.
