    After Effects Workflow

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good workflow with AE?  I have a project we just shot that is about 90% green screen.  The composites will be generated in AE CS3 and I have automatic duck to get it to AE from the Avid, but could use a suggestion on what kind of rendering we should use to go back to the Avid for finishing and layoff.

We shot 1080i using the HVX-200 but will finish in 720p for layoff.

The other thing we have to contend with are minatures shot on green screen at 720p overcranked to 60fps for the sake of motion.  For the final output and integration with AE, it won't really matter, but is there a way I will be able to incorporate the 720p footage into my 1080i timeline to give the effects editor?

I've been reading some of the previous threads, but wanted to see if there is anything new as I didn't find anything newer than 2007.  It would be great to keep the timeline, but I realize there has been nothing in the past.

What is the best codec to render to in AE for continued use in the Avid, the effects editor downloaded the codecs from Avid.

Find the codec that matches your Avid sequence and make an Output Module for it. Click the Options button in the QT dialogue and make sure everything is right. For fast import into the Avid you'll need 601/709 levels selected. If your footage is video originated that won't be a problem. If you are adding graphics (say 8bpc, 0-255 levels) than add an adjustment layer above those elements in AE and use a level adjustment to leagalise them.

Not at this time.  You cannot mix progressive/interlaced clips in the same project.  This will be a feature of v3, which will allow mixing if the framerates are identical.
