I can't seem to import a ref file into Sorenson Squeeze without it exporting a solid green video, no matter what the export type is. I can capture the ref file back into DS just fine but when I link to the file, I get the same solid green video. Any suggestions?
Make sure all effects are rendered. In other words, make sure the timeline ribbon has no areas of red, yellow or green.

Solid green is usually because the destination application can't 'see' the video.
1. Ensure the AVI Ref and/or QT Ref codecs are installed on the destination machine
2. Ensure the destination machine can see the DS's video storage across the network
3. If you're running DS v8.4 then you might want to ensure you only make a Type 1 AVI file for Squeeze (it doesn't understand Tyoe 2). To do so, make sure your sequence is Stereo, and that you have 16bit selected on the output tab.

Everything is being done on the same computer. I still am having the same issue even with the suggestions. It will play it in the SS Player but when it stops, it's green and when I link the file it's green but if I import the avi ref file, it's ok. Any more suggestions? I don't know if this is related, I it also can't create clip from timeline, it stops as if it gets stuck.

DS v8.4 QFE1??
If so, ensure you have 16 bit selected on the output tab - SS can't understand Type 2 AVIs yet.
This sounds like you do not have the AVI ref codec file installed. There was a problem with the install package from Avid at one point. Go the link below, download and install this fix:

If that does not help, make sure you are not using a 10 bit video sequence to make the AVI ref file. Sorenson does not accept this.
Good luck,
Jef
It turns out I was doing it wrong. I needed to be on the 32 bit DS Nitris Assist when I exported the avi ref file. That's why SS couldn't read it. I can also make quicktime ref files there.

Nope, that's not necessary. I've been making AVI refs from the 64 bit v8.4 for a long time now and they work just fine. The link to the new installer is important though, if you'd never had any other DS installed on that cpu prior to v8.4. That could be why you had problems with 64 bit.
