    Junk Matte

     Hello,

Can you make a junk matte in the Avid before I Key the green out of the subject?

I've only heard refer to it as a "garbage matte", but that may be a regional thing ;-)

You could use either a PIP or the Animatte effect to make a rough or precise selection of footage to key. Also, I think the chroma key effects allow cropping, but that might be too rough (like PIP).

Job's right - Animatte will help you limit which parts of an image to key.

If you've got Boris Continuum, you can use it's Chroma Key effect along with the 'Region' Pixel Choose option.
