Hi Jeabby,

Yes, it does.  The restrictions are you do not get third-party applications (Squeeze, etc) that you get with the commercial version, and you may not use the academic version for commercial projects.

I'm already be junior editor.

I would suggested my friend to use Avid over Final Cut Pro.

Any student holding a valid Student ID can purchase the software for $295.

How much is it to upgrade from the academic price to the commercial version?

where did you get that figure?  ive contacted avid and my local reseller and they said they dont have anything in place at the moment but will have an upgrade path in a few months

Sorry, I was quoting the current deal. Things may be changing with all the new pricing though.
