does axp have color pass?

If  you mean can Avid color correct your finished footage. Absolutely.

Exactly what  do you mean by "Color Pass"?

 maybe im not using the correct term. but the effect i want is when, you the picture black and white but only the red from the roses are red and the rest is black and white.

In xpress 'Pro you either need a 3rd party plug to do this  or, you can do what I did for years and use a two layer effect.

On v1, place  your shot on V1 and make it black and white. Then put your "Rose" shot on V2 and place a chroma key effect on the layer. Select the red in the rose to key out. Once you have the rose keyed properly, just invert  the key.

sounds simple enough, it sounds alot like the dmn transfer effect.
