    interlacing issues

OK some simple questions to start me off...I am filming on a sony pd170 camera - am i shooting interlaced? and so should my project when i start be 25i? i ask because i'm seeing a lot of lines on the composer window and want to make sure i'm doing the right thing. Also, in a previous project i have 4 pic in pic effects and the interlacing is hideous especially when i export to quicktime - any ideas on how to get rid of the lines????

    thanks

    Hi,

    Yes, you are shooting interlaced.

Are you in a PAL or NTSC country?  If PAL, then 25i.  If NTSC, then 30i.

How does it look on a broadcast monitor?

What export settings are you using?  Is this for the web or for DVD or something else?  What version of Quicktime is on your system?

    good luck,
    Carl
