Symphony 5 on Windows XP Pro?

    Hi,

I have a Symphony 5. Meridian system thats not quite ready for the dump. Its running on a Compaq EVO 8000 with windows 2k. Id like to upgrade the OS to XP pro - reason being that 2000 doesnt really get on with the USB slots and I want to put a Firewire card in the old tub.

Does Symph work with XP Pro, seems like all knowledge centre stuff on Meridian systems has been removed - which is annoying!

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I couldn't find it, either.  I just sent a message to Avid Publications to see if all that Symphony Meridien information is really gone, or if we're just not looking in the right place.  I just found a ton of Xpress Meridien release notes a few days ago, so I'd bet it's still there someplace.  I'll let you know if I hear anything.

    good luck,
    Carl

Yeah, Meridien rocked!  And, in fact, still does.  It's Adrenaline we want to forget about.  In some of the Avid road-shows, they call the new DX performace, "Meridien-style".  Like we woke up on March 17th, and Adrenaline was just a bad dream ....

    Hi,

I found a few of the documents and posted them to the Symphony Meridien ReadMe category. I will have to look tomorrow to find out more on this.

I dreamt my mercedes board was on the blink, and woke up to find it wasnt a dream at all. Still, theres life in the old girl yet, even without an effects board, which I dont use anyway much.

I like the sound of Meridian Style performance on the new boxes, I think ill get one. Would be great to keep the symph in the game though! I will try my best, but connection and compatability issues are a headache. Thats where the knowledge base was useful. I hope it has just been temporarily mislaid.

    Best.

Hey - don't garbage that gear yet... if you are looking to trade-up you can. That garbage is worth case trade value for the DX series (I believe Nitris) of hardware.
