16 to 9 in DVD Sonic

I'm trying to make a DVD out of normal PAL anamorphotic material in Sonic DVD for five hours now. My results are awful. Sometime the material is stretched, sometimes 4:3 and sometimes zoomed so that on the left and right side material is missing.

What I want is -like in DVD-Studio Pro - push ab bottum that says this DVD is 4:3 letterbox. But I can't find this buttom in Sonic.

My workflow was: Sending the meterial directly from AVID MC to Sonic. I've made a Menue with a bg-movie and one titel. I've testes the project setting widescreen and full-screen for the title and the Movie Attribute 4:3 and 16:9 for the movie.

    Who can help me?

    :-) Oliver

after hours of experimentation, the only way I've been able to make this work is by putting a resize FX on the video, with horiz set to 98 and vert set to 72. it looks distorted in the record window, but, all will be well when it's rendered out to 4x3.

I've never had good results going straight out of Avid to DVD.  I have however had excellent results using Sorenson, TMPGEnc, or Cleaner to transcode QT refs from Avid and then using those files in Avid (sonic) DVD.

So my new wife asks me about my "Avid Forever" tattoo... I told her she's an old girlfriend who was always coming up with new things for me to try...

Thanks. I`ll make it this way. Seems that this prgramm is not really well thought.
