Running TM vers 2.9.5 MM vers 4.5.2 on Avid Unity , 7 adrenalins , 22 Newscutters
I initiate transfer from remote workgroup to local workgroup using transfer manager.
After transfer says it is complete (both in Media Manager and in Transfer Manager status service) I then drag sequence (green, so online) into a newscutter bin. Media there however appears as offline. The sequence can be viewed (both video and audio) on a ProLog viewer on Media Manager no problems.
After some time the sequence eventually comes ‘online’ in the Newscutter bin and can be sent to playout airspeed. However in other newscutter and adrenalin suites this media is still showing up as ‘offline’…we even had an example yesterday of a .transfer version of a package appearing offline despite the fact that it had went on air.
What is also strange is that a video mixdown on a locally ‘online’ sequence seems to make it available for other suites through Media Manager. Any help would be appreciated.
Interesting.. seems almost like a media database issue.
The mixdown moves the media from the transfer folder to the folder made by the system mixing the material down.

D'oh hate the brain farts.
you must mount the WORKSPACE the transfer came into on the edit system. You can move metadata around between MM and Bins, but you must have the media available to the system to have it show up.
A play out transfer won't care about that, as it grabs from Anywhere on the storage to slide it over.
The workspace we take sequences from the remote location onto is the main one we use so it is always mounted in every suite?
We seem to have identified a possible reason for this. When transfers arrive from the remote location via transfer manager and get dragged into a bin , some of the files end up in the quarantine folder in newscutter/adrenalin and as they get released from here they seem to appear "online", however WHY this is happening is still a mystery?? also is it the Avid editing client or transfer manager that quarantines the file?
Imurray:Do you have any anti-virus software running or active in the background when you're using Avid? If so, that might be the root of your quarantine problem.
