    offline media

Lost all my media for a very old project. I have all the sequences and bins saved, but of course everything is off-line now.

Is there a way just to re-capture the media used in my final sequence?  Wondering how I can do this.

There certainly is and it's easy. Use the decompose function on your sequence and a group of new offline clips will be created that represent only the material that is in your timeline plus handles defined by you. You can then use the batch capture and (if necessary) the batch import functions to restore your sequence. That's all there is to it.
