There is a reference in the new DV magazine to a new title tool from Avid. Anybody hear about this? Is this a stand alone system or is it for the editors?
thanks
Kevin
No new title tool anytime soon. Anything else is speculation and not permitted on the forums.
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?

Thanks Todd...I wasn't really "speculating" since the article was written about the recent NAB show and the information offered seemed to have come directly from Avid...it would be a good idea tho!
Just to clarify, was the article about a new Title Tool within Media Composer, or possibly a new version of Title Deko from the Avid Pinnacle division?

That's what I'm thinking too 'cause I don't think there was anything on the presentation list about any new TT.
p. 6, May DV magazine. Article called "Live from Las Vegas." Sub-section called "Avid Incognito" written by Ned Soltz. quote "...A new titling tool has been introduced..." That's all it says, no reference to what software is it attached to.
pretty sure that's deko.
Which having used it for a few years is an OK titler. Not as powerful (or diifficult) as Marquee but way ahead of the old title tool. Too bad they didn't aquire the Inscriber titler. That is sweet!

Yeah better Inscriber integration would be wonderful. I've talked to the product manager at Inscriber/Harris about this and they said they'd love to, if Avid came a callin'. I've been using Boris Red lately and it does some very sweet titling and is very fast once you get your head around it's interface. The text is much tighter than Inscriber. I wish it did some things like storing layouts/templates and font styles like Inscriber.

I would be happy if Avid's Title Tool would propose today what it was able to do in the ABVB days, i.e. copy paste pictures or logos + alpha.. Meridien days gave the ability to do RT rolls.

ABVB also had RT crawls. Gone too.
And how about a Spell Checker (like Inscriber has) for all us bad spellers/editors. (I'm convinced all editors are bad spellers). And on that note, a spell checker for this forum.
And Inscriber has a Character Map which is handy for Wingdings and Foreign Langauges.
