BAVUG | May 14 "NAB WrapUp" meeting

Sorry for the late notice on this, I forgot that we had a User Group section in the forums now... in the future I plan to post details of upcoming meetings here - hope some of you can make it!

    Location:
    Brighton Landing
    10 Guest St
    Brighton, MA

    Register for Event: http://www.bavug.org/contactus/register.asp

    Schedule of Events:
    6:30pm - 7:00pm | Registration & Networking
Meet other editors and Avid representatives.

    7:00pm - 9:00pm | NAB Wrap-Up with Frank Capria and Greg Staten
Our May meetings have always traditionally been a wrap up of the events at NAB between Avid and its competitors. Despite both Avid and Apple opting not to show anything on the floor this year we're positive that there will still be plenty to talk about! This year Avid Senior Product Designers, Frank Capria and Greg Staten, will join forces and give us a first-hand look at some of the new hardware announced by Avid this year including the Symphony NitrisDX, as well as outline all that "happened in Vegas". Join us and get the scoop!

The BAVUG would like to thank our very generous sponsors:
    Avid Technology, Inc.
    GenArts, Inc.

    We appreciate your continued support!

At an upcoming meeting (actual date TBA), we are planning a "15 Minutes of Fame" event. This event will be a chance for YOU - our members - to show off your work to the group.
The idea is that we have an evening for you to present a short piece or 'snippet' of work where you used an interesting Avid technique you would like to share. Then you get the chance to explain how you created it. Each person will get 15 minutes of meeting time to use.
Anyone that would be interested in participating should send a link to their video to showcase@bavug.org.

Remember - you are the Users in the Users Group! Get your videos posted early so we can make this event a success!

If you're an Avid Editor and you'd like to be considered by facilities throughout New England, register on the Avid Editor list at http://www.bavug.org/attic/editor.asp

Additionally, we are excited to announce that BAVUG is now a "Group" on LinkedIN, the online networking site for professionals.

If you're already a member of LinkedIN and you would like to join the BAVUG network, visit http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/41027/6B2CCE20A7D9 Once you are approved, you will be an official member of the BAVUG Group!

If you're not already a member of LinkedIN, you must first sign in and create a profile. visit www.linkedin.com to join and/or find out more info about LinkedIN.

    And!!!

We are also currently seeking additional sponsors and volunteers to help propel the BAVUG to a new level in 2008. The BAVUG Board is currently just a few people who volunteer their time and it requires a lot of work to continue to have high quality meetings. If you would be interested in providing sponsorship or helping out the Board at future meetings, send an email to volunteers@bavug.org

Lastly, if you have suggestions for guest speakers or topics for upcoming meetings please send us mail at contactus@bavug.org

    Thanks!
