While exporting a QT movie with h.264 codec we continue to get this error.....
Exception: Perameter Error! This export format may require audio or video tracks
Anyone else had this same error? What did you do to correct this issue?
Welcome to the forums.
As we ask all of our new posters, you must update your system specs (especially MC software version and QT version) or post them in the topic. Otherwise, we have no idea how to help you, as you might be facing a bug that was fixed in a later software build.
Are you seeing this in all Quicktimes you export? Including Same as Source? Do you have "Use Marks" and "Use Selected Tracks" checked in your settings? And DO you have tracks highlighted and marks set?

We have had this issue on several of our systems. Here's the info you requested.
MC v2.5 with QT 7.4.5
MC v2.6.4 with QT 7.3
Did not try uncompressed QT - thought this might be a problem with the h.264 codec and wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this problem. And I do have all of the selections that you mention selected, including all tracks.
It's because you are not using the correct version of QT for your Avid software.
Please refer to the version matrix and install the correct version of QT.

Interesting. That matrix suggests I need to be running Quicktime 7.0 and I'm currently on 7.4.5. Is there a link at Apple to provide a retrograde download/uninstaller?
I'm also running a 980XGL (dual monitor) with the 67.22 driver and the matrix suggests 84.26. Is that for the FX1300 card only, or do all supported NVIDIA cards for MCA 2.2.10 need to be running that version?
You will have to uninstall Quicktime yourself, then get the correct version from here.
AFAIK, the driver is the same for all supported NVIDIA cards.
Tell whoever put that matrix together thank you. It's handy. The only thing that's missing are the custom overlay settings that you have to set to avoid the edit window's brightness and contrast shifting between play and pause. FWIW the values for the 67.22 driver are different from the 84.26 driver.
As we are talking about grafic drivers. (Running 84.26 and MCA 2.8 without any issues)
If I want to upgrade the grafic driver (perhaps with 3.0) how should I do that? Uninstalling the older driver first (where?)
Thanx

What is editing? It´s the process of transforming a collection of badly focussed or horribly framed shots containing reversed screen directions, flare and dirt into a smooth visual statement of the script... ... for which the director takes the credit!
I've now noticed a random bug with the 84.26 driver. Even with a sequence of fully rendered effects, the record monitor freezes when playing. The NTSC monitor does not. I can still see everything move when scrubbing. This doesn't occur every time however. I had 5 rendered sequences play fine, and then after rendering the sixth it froze. Maybe a memory issue? The only other thing I've adjusted on XP the the page file maximum size.
Sorry to answer my own post, but restarting Composer does appear to clear up the problem. Memory usage is now 12% instead of the 35% I noticed when it was freezing up. The bin in question is 2,384K in size. Any ideas on how to permanently fix this short of rolling back to 67.22?
