    Master Fader

I'd like to see a master output fader on the audio mix tool.

    Thanks,

Not sure this is what you mean but...

In the Audio Tool, Output Tab, is a Master Output Fader (or Output Gain Fader).

    Re: Master Fader

Good idea. I posted a similar idea a while back, that asked for a tear off menu of some kind to control overall volume. With all the laptops in use you'd think there would be a better way to control the overall output volume, quickly and easily. Keeping the audio output control panel open seems like overkill and a waste of space. Why not just make a single slider that could be kept open and tucked away, but would be ready for quick changes to volume and why not add a mute on/off feature.

Just a thought: Theory when working with sound is that you should work at one calibrated level. A dim button as well as a mute option is usually available to quickly turn down/off the volume.

    Hi,

If you only had one slider, how would you determine which audio track it was lowering?  Or do you mean you want one slider that would affect all the audio tracks in the timeline equally no matter what point you move it up or down?  This question isn't just for Adam; anybody who wants this feature please feel free to describe how you'd imagine it would work.

    adios,

Yes, a master output slider and - dare I say it? - one that you can ride if need be.

    Thanks

    Re: Master Fader

Right, a master slider that controls overall volume output (not individual levels, like the mix tool). I could see it being used as a quick way to adjust the output level without having to go into the audio output tool settings. Basically the same thing that already exists, but slimmed down and made easier to display. The ability to ride it would be nice too, say if you've just added a sfx and not had time to fully mix it into the overall mix, you could just ride the slider (as you would thru a separate mixer), not ideal but it could be helpful when not going thru a mixer set up. I guess this means that if you made it rideable then it would have to be something that wouldn't stop play as it was adjusted.
