Re: Your system is not licensed to run this version of the software

Success - too late for a beer but relief is intoxicating.

However.  I am a bit alarmed that when I start a new project there isnt a 720p25 option.  Am I mistaken - I thought 2.8.3 supported this.

Not sure, but I believe that is supported in the upcoming 3.0 release (approx. arrival - June) which since you just now upgraded to 2.8.3, you will get for free - Avid has a 90 day window on upgrades after purchase.

Re: Your system is not licensed to run this version of the software

Well apparently you can import 72025 from XDCAM into any 2.8.3 project. But it seems I  cant capture from my JVC GY 100.  How can Avid support the format but not provide a project setting to allow us to capture it.

So I am still frustrated.  Ver 3 may offer what I need, but I cant rely on it.  There have been too many half-promises and reassurances.  I have to carry on using Liquid and the really long  capture/encode/import/encode workflow that I have been enduring.

    What a disappointment!!

I'm not sure where you got the information but the OFFICIAL support for HDV 720/24p and 720/25p is in version 3. I think you are creating expectations from incorrect information. This is why the moderators stress that dont depend on rumors and such until you get the official word.
