Hi there,
Just upgraded from AXP to MC, and I have 2 questions:
1. how do I go from 4:3 to 16:9 monitors (I used to be able to choose either option from the Clip menu, but it doesn't seem to exist here in MC)
2. how can I adjust the height of my video and audio tracks. Again, I used to be able to grab and adjust with my cursor, but that feature doesn't seem to exist in MC.
thanks for any advice,
Malcolm
For the track size issue try selecting the track, hold down command, and hit "L" to make it bigger and "k" to make it smaller.

malcolm:
1. Right click in the composer window and select 16:9 video
2. Hold down Alt/Option and click/drag between the track labels. Or use the keyboard shortcut as in the previous post.

I. Look up workspaces.
Using a standard Source Record window create a 4by 3 desktop the way you like it save as a workspace. Do the same for 16 by 9.
You can also name settings so they will attach to workspaces.
Map the workspaces to your keyboard. (I have Page up as 16:9 workspace and page down as 4:3 workspace)
Thanks everone... I'd tried the control-click (Avid Help mentioned this when I did a search), but it didn't work for me, for some reason. I'll try the other suggestions when I get back to my office.
Cheers, Malcolm
Try a straight click on the line between the two track selector icons. The cursor should turn into a two way arrow icon pointing up and down. This used to be a CTRL (for MAC, CMD) + click, but now it seems to activate on a standard click. Personally, I wish they would restore the CTRL + function. Way too often, I find myself accidently resizing tracks when all I want to do is select or de-select a particular track.

O.K., back at the office - - Brickwad's advice worked for track height adjustment (doing a straight click on the line between the track selector icons doesn't produce a two-way arrow for me in MC, as it did in AXP; maybe because I'm running in Leopard, but Command-L works so I'm not worried.
On the other hand, nothing seems to work for changing to a 16:9 workspace. Right-click doesn't work, and there isn't the choice in the Clip menu, as there was in AXP.
Any other suggestions for switching to 16:9 view?
Thanks, Malcolm
Malcolm:
Some combination of CMD, CTRL, OPT or maybe SHIFT + drag should work so that you can instantly drag and resize tracks vertically, if it doesn't work as a standard drag.
On the other hand, nothing seems to work for changing to a 16:9 workspace.
Project Window -> Settings -> Composer.
The first tab has an option to turn on 16x9 monitors.
Right click or CTRL-click on the source or record monitor should work too, though.
Ahhhhh! There it was in Settings->Composer, just as you said. Thanks so much Job!
