Hi,
In Xpress Pro, I was able to "show more or less detail" (ie Zoom in and out) on the time line with the up and down arrowns on the keyboard.
I can't seem to find a way to remap that to MC. I see there is this option:
But I am used to just arrow up and arrow down. I don't want to have to hit Ctrl+] or [.
I searched the forum but could not find an answer. Is this possible in MC 2.8.3?
I really hope it is as I am VERY used to doing it that way.
Thanks!

System #2 Avid MC v 3 HP xw 8200 Workstation Single 3.6Ghz CPU WinXP SP2 3GB of RAM FX 1400 Videocard and Mojo
Using Menu to Button reassignment, you can map More Detail and Less Detail from the timeline hamburger menu to the up and down arrow keys.
good luck,Carl

I got it! Thanks! I had not used that option before and it took me a minute to see how it works. THANKS SO MUCH. I now have a few more I need to add
So far, I am liking what I see in MC! Now I just wish CleanerXL would autoload my "Send To" QT for encoding. It used to work on previous versions of Cleaner. But ever since I upgrade to CleanerXL 1.5, it does not like the auto load file option. They must have changed the way it auto imports files. I have sent a e-mail to Autodesk, but I am not sure they will have an answer.
Thanks again Carl

Ok, I am running into something else puzzling.
I have a mojo and sometimes when I playback dissolves, they look jerky. Then I change the timeline video quality option from green to yellow then to green/yellow and back to green and the next time I play the timeline, the dissolve looks normal and smooth. I have had this happen a couple of times already this afternoon. Am I somehow hitting a keyboard shortcut or setting I am not familiar with that is messing with my realtime playback abilities? Or could I be having an issue with my mojo?
Anyone seen this before? It never did that when I was using Xpress Pro.
Thanks
Regarding the jerky dissolves, you might not have enough RAM. MC requires 2 gigs, 3 are recommended. Try rendering the dissolves in the meantime.
Regarding mapping to the up and down arrow keys on the timeline toolbar, keep in mind that their default function in MC is to step in and step out of an effect for nesting. You will need to map the nesting commands elsewhere.

Hi Grant,
Do you get any of the little red, yellow or blue indicator lines on the timecode track in the area where the dissolve/jerky playback is?
I am ok with the nesting. I remapped them. I don't use that very much.
My machine is a HP xw8200 with dual 3.6 Xeon and 3GB of ram. I know the 3GB switch was set back when I had XP installed. So all 3GB should be available to the system. I always render everything before sending to be encoded. But I would think it could play them realtime like it did in Xpress Pro. Like I said, it seems to be ok until something triggers it to not work. I just have not been able to pinpoint what that might be. Maybe with some more time on the editor next week, I might see what is causing the problem.

Not that I noticed. But I will be looking much closer on Monday when I have time to sit back down and work with it some more.
On standard test under the circumstances would be to create a new user profile and see if the problem persists. If this anomaly is exclusive to one particular project, the "(project name)settings.avs" file may have become corrupted.
