How many times have you gotten an error that you had no clue what it meant? Often times, you can find them on the user forums, but why shouldn't Avid be able to tell you . After all, it created the error code.

"... it created the error code ..."
Actually, it's not quite that straight forward. Although, the Avid siftware generated the message, the root cause may not be readily known. Many errors are fairly generic. I've been asking for this since '95, when I was a Front Line Support Rep for Avid in the Burbank office. What would be helpful, if at least they'd provide a list of teh common acronyms and partial words.
Some of my favorites:
No Chunk ... with OMF media, long clips were written in 2GB chunks. If one or more of these chunks were missing, you'd get this error.
DENOCOIN ... "Deck Error - No Coincidence Point" ... basically no TC on tape.
Bad Magic ... possible file corruption .... maybe
... anybody else have some funny or strange favorites?
What does MOBMAN_BATCH_BEGUN mean?
