Hi I am hoping someone can help me.
I have 2 sequences, which are very similar, length, size, track numbers etc.. when i consolidate and export the 1st one it is the normal size of approx 700mb (as have all 6 sequences i exported before this!)
when i export the 2nd one it is over a gig in size which i know is wrong. i have redone it numerous times, trashed my settings, re-consolidated and every time it comes in over a gig. i am doing exactly the same thing for both sequences.
I am using media composer v10.7.5 , 8 audio tracks, 26 mins duration sequences.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Is there anything that differentiates the problem sequence? More effects, maybe?
good luck,Carl
There is no such thing as a video emergency. My Demo Website
Have you tried completely fresh user settings? Saw this recenty on 2.8 it was down to corrupt user settings
I totally trashed my settings and made new ones, but havent tried using someone elses yet. there are no real differences between the sequences, very little effects too its a basic dialogue, atmos and some music sequence really.. baffling...
double checked its media composer v10.5
ive since tried exporting just the audio tracks 1 and 2 , the file size was over 500mb (which is nearly the size of the entire other seq) i then re-imported it back into my system and it seemed to work fine. but its still a mystery why its nearly twice the size of the other sequence....
Do you have group clips in your sequence?
No group clips, its a really basic sequence.
the only thing i can think of is the source tapes are recorded time of day timecode so there is a lot of timecode breaks so maybe when i consolidated using 50 frame handles it went past a timecode break on some clips and took in alot more media.
going to try giving less handles and see if that works...
I seem to have fixed it! i tried a number of things so I am unsure which is the solution but here's what I did;
i started from scratch again, deleted all consolidated clips, then I deleted the msm files from the omfi media files folder, rescanned the drives, reopened media composer, went through the sequences and lifted out all black space in between clips, (there was 1 or 2 match frame edits on the filler here and there)
I then split up the sequence, taking tacks 1 and 2 and consolidating them with 10 frame handles, tracks 3 and 4 with 20 frame handles and all the music tracks 5-8 with 50 frame handles.
all together these are now just a little over 700mb as have all the other sequences.
no clue what did it, maybe a combination, but it worked..
thanks for help. hope this helps someone too.
