Hello,
I digitized my media with Avid Media Composer (PC) and obviously it turned it into a MXF file. Now I want to transfer my media to my Final Cut Pro System (Mac). What's the best way to do this with out loosing quality?
Thanks
The media types are not compatible. FCP is Quicktime-based, and cannot read the Avid's native media.
You could try exporting an AAF, but I'm not sure FCP will take those. Both systems take OMF, but since you are digitizing in MXF, that won't work.
You could have looked at Automatic Duck, but those plugins aren't available for PC.
Are you ready to redigitize?? :)

Also, there really was no reason to double-post this. Most of us review all the forums. If you need to update or append to a previous post, just reply to it, which will also bump it back to the top.

What about exporting out of Avid? Is there a codec that I can use? Also the double post was an accident;)
Answered in the other post. Export as DV or Quicktime. You'll lose TC though.
