Were you at the same demo AndrewAction?  You seem very sure of yourself so I guess you were.

Re: New Avid marketing about new products

Andrew I was sleeping during the first half of the demo when

he was talking about apple and FCP.

But when they started talking about Aftereffects, outputting to tape

without an NLE, viewing shake, and DVDSP, that was impressive for

    the dollar.

As for as NLE goes I'm sticking to Avid, MC v3 looks great, but nobody

is giving me an answer on the subtitle part of the software.

I'd like some answers on exporting STL files.

    thanks

    Mike

Just practicing the art of marketing speak.  I deliberately kept my comment generic "The art of A demo is to..." with enough inuendo for some to take it that I was talking about a specific demo

    Marianna,

Wow, this is great.  Was that matrix always there and we didn't know where to look?? Or is it new?

    A good matrix!

Need to be geekified more to satisfy the technophiles in this forum (thin raster, bit depth, pulldown, etc).

What about the subcap demo on the MC Nitris DX link? (off the page Marianna's link points to)

Guys....What do we think about this....

What more, specifically does Avid need to spell out in this type of marketing info (Make sure you follow the "Learn More" link too)

Yeah, Marianna and I were talking  about it and I got tied up with clients (stupid money-givers).

So, we still haven't heard where this doc falls short.

I know you guys can find something.

Re: New Avid marketing about new products

I agree that it needs to be more geekafied.  When I look at the product matrix, these are the questions I ask myself.  Some of these are just textual perhaps, and if I go to the product pagse I might be able to answer some of them:

    - The group "SD I/O and monitoring"... what is "monitoring"? I assume analog output? But it's not checked for NitrisDX, and that has analog... so i dunno.

    - If groups such as "Advanced VFX finishing toolset" were hot-linked to exactly what that is, that would help a ton.  Otherwise its just marketing.

    - I like the group for DNxHD capture... it's very clear (not specific, but clear) what I would need if I want to capture directly to that codec.

    - "Export to web or mobile" and "Burn to DVD and Blu-ray" I assume this is with Sorenson and Avid DVD.  Perhaps a note.

    - Can prices be added?

    - Side note, would love love love more product shots.  I want to see every angle, every input, every switch and toggle so I can geek out about it.

    - This is a big one, and I don't even really expect it, but it's the competitive advantage matrix.  The price-point for Avid products is so drastically different from "competing products", I personally still don't know why it costs so much.

There are great conversations happening about factors that contribute to that price (customer support, etc.) but it's still not clicking with me.  Either it's not communicated or I'm just not hearing it, or simply a product like the MojoDX or NitrisDX at that price is just not for me (even though I want one ;)

It's almost as if I want to say "I need feature-X, what in the Avid product line gives me that? OK, now how does that Avid product that has feature-X compare to other companies products that give me Feature-X and why is Avid's better?" And that's where I would like it to get technical.

    does that make sense?

Your link was more helpful than my description of how to get to the same file. Close enough that touche would have worked for my sense of humour.
