    720x480 widescreen problem

    Hey,

I'm using Sonic.. I mean Avid DVD 5.7 with AXP 5.8.  I'm pretty sharp with knowing my formats, frame rates, pix aspects, etc.  I'm trying to import 720x480 widescreen dv into Avid DVD, but no matter what I do it incorrectly recognizes it as 4:3.  Avid DVD seems pretty limited compared to Encore as far as being able to force it to 4:3 or 16:9.  What do I need to do to import 16:9 SD/DV video into Avid DVD and have it recognize it as 16:9.  I've tried a bunch of different codecs too, QT anim, QT avid dv, QT uncompressed, AVI, etc.

    Thanks for any help available.

In Avid DVD, you need to set each video to either 4:3 or 16:9 depending on what it is after you've imported it - I actually like it better this way (more control). After you import, click on the video file, and on the right hand controls, there should be an option for either 4:3 or 16:9. You'll need to set this for everything you import.

    Hope this helps!
