space bar doesn't stop playing

pressing the space bar to stop playback doesn't stop it. We're running 2 systems on 12.1.5 and unity 4.2.3. Curious if anyone else has had that problem with 12.1.5

Just try a new user settings. It sounds like corrupt settings.

the editor claims to have already done that but you know how that goes
