    Thanks. But the thread doesn´t really answer why and how many points are given for what and what the perks are.

    Points will actually be "worth" something; we'll use them as a measurement of how active people are in the community, and at certain thresholds you can earn perks. The specifics of this program belong to Marianna and she will be posting much more detail; probably after we deliver the next round of functionality.
