Avid Xpress 5.7+ and Capturing 24p HD

     Hi -

I have recently invested in a Canon HV20- and have recorded in HD, 24P. How can I capture this in AVID, 5.7+?

    Thanks,

    Glenn

You can't.  Avid doesn't support Canon's 24F format.  Or didn't, last time I checked.  1080/60i HDV should work assuming your hardware meets the System Requirements (Dual G5 or Intel Mac).

MacPro, MacBook Pro and a Cube. The Cube doesn't do much but it looks cool. [view my complete system specs]
Must think of something clever to go here...

Thanks for the feedback!!!! I have a Mac Book Pro 17'', which is an Intel Mac (I believe). System requirements should meet.

I think I once converted to 24p in an AVID project, or am I dreaming?

    Thanks Again!!!

You've got to get the material into the Avid first.  Try capturing both 24F and 60i material into a HDV project and let us know which one(s) work.

When I try to capture, I get the following errors -

SELECTING V TRACK -- Exception: Operation not supported,filename:creating39

    SELECTING ANY A TRACK -- Exception : ADM_DIO_ERROR_OCCURRED , DIOerr:PMDIO_InputMode:Start - driver error: - FTStatus Code _FT_StartLinkFailed - FlamethrowerOHCICaptureLink:StartLink - Failed to start stream

    What is causing these errors?
