When I enter colour correction mode and adjust the wheels or the curves, nothing happens. If i leave colour correction mode but then open the effect editor, the alterations I have made show up. Obviously I can't make any real time colour corrections this way. 

This has also happened with some other effects where nothing happens until I open the effect editor panel, usually doing this once is enough to kick start the effect into life.

Any ideas?

Whenever something weird like this is happening, the first thing I try is a new user and new project to see if either of those settings are corrupt.  That's what I'd try first if I were in your shoes.

How many layers do you have ?

If your CC is base layer you need to make sure the right  (toggle) viewing layer is selected when in the CC room.

Also any other FX, Plug ins etc. will not be seen until you step out. Sometimes selecting FX refreshes this?

Thanks for that, created a new user and that solved it! Shame on me for not trying the simple things first...too many things have never been solved so I'm cynical
