Hi all,

Working on a xpress DV 4.6 on OS X, and having issues capturing video and playback of imported QTs. I get an error message about "desktop video resource". Tried to do a search re desktop video resource, but couldnt find anything that satisfied my needs. Have any of you experienced the same issue, and what did you find out? Any help is appreciated.

Can you tell us exactly which version of OSX and also what version of QT you have?

Thanks for your response. I wrote that post for a friend of mine, who is having the desktop video resource issue. I tried it on my mac, and did some QT import tests. It worked just fine (os x 10.4.11 / QT ver. 7.4.5). I still havent heard back from him yet, but will post his specs as soon as i get them. He´s a director, and shouldn´t be playing with toys he cant handle : )

Btw, what´s the story with Desktop Video Resource? What does it mean?

just got a reply from my friend. he's on osx 10.4.11, and QT version 7.4.1.

Yeah, he's way out of spec. If  he's running 4.6, he needs to be on OS 10.4.3. HAve him look at the OS/Avid version matrix posted in the FAQs at the top of the Mac forums.
