    Need a little help...

I finished a 720P 23.97 project in Avid that was shot using the HVX P2 Cards.

The final product needs to be delivered on mini DV. How do I get the timeline to put out to my DV device? ( which is the XL2)

Since its an HD projec it puts out DVCPRO which my DV device can not read. How do I get sequence onto a SD timeline so I out put to my DV device.

I have tried the transcoder feature which I selected to convert to Avid 1x1 and maybe I didnt do it right but wasnt able to get a signul out.

    any thoughts?

    Re: Need a little help...

Do a mixdown to DV25 and output that.  It should solve your problem.

i suppose you have to go to the format tab and select 25i instead of 720p. then your

camcorder should understand the signal. i would assume you will have to switsch the format in that

tab before you try to make a videomixdown, to get the right codecs provided.

    Re: Need a little help...

Sorry for the late response - I'm in the middle of finishing not one but two projects.

I don't deal with 720p, so this is speculative.  Export a QT ref version of your cut, create a new DV project and import the QT into that.  Play that out to your deck.

It'll be slow, but I can't immediately see why it wouldn't work.

     Thanks,

I ended up trying that out too, funny thing is when I made a Quick time reff files, and I load the file to make sure its there... no fotage comes up.. weird. So i exported a uncompresed quick time and brought into a SD project and got it to out put to a DV deck. thank you all for your help!
