Hello all,
I have a technically unsupported system, an HP xw9400, but it mas mulitple bus segments and is similar to the approved xw8400 in architecture. I also have Mojo SDI and recently have been plagued by ADM_DIO flamethrower errors, occuring every few minutes to every few hours. This is when plugged into the host firewire or a supported SIIG 1394 card in any slot. Today I even removed every other card (with the exception of my raid card which is PCI Express) and still the problem persists! It's driving me crazy...I have a dual boot with two installs of XP, one original HP with MC 2.7, one fresh with 2.8.3. Both experience the flamethrowers.
I've read many old posts on this but does anyone have any new wisdom?
Ollie
Usually this is a problem with multiple Flamethrower.sys drivers left over from previous installs - avid changed the location of them a couple of times, and the regular uninstaller didn't always get rid of the .sys files.
You would usually uninstall, do a search for Flamethrower.sys, delete if found, then re-install. Don't know what issues you may (or may not) be creating with a dual boot installation.
Thanks for your reply, very interesting...In the case of both MC versions, they are the first Avid product that's been installed on each XP disk.
Also dual boot shouldn't create any issues as the OSes are on two different drives.
After discussion with my reseller, have now tried connecting my mojo via a Sonnet Allegro which is the FW323 Agere based card with 4K buffer, approved by Avid for use with Dual Quad core xw8400s. After a promising start with a whole day of no errors at all, half way through the second day the flamethrowers were back.
Is anyone else running a xw9400 or similar opeteron board successfully with mojo?
