Capturing from the JVC HD 110U BIG Problem... Please help

Hi there... I just got my Avid system up and running but came to a big problem.  I shot some SD 24p footage to tape and can't get the Avid to recognize my camera as a device.  When I plug in the fire wire from the camera to the computer, I then start Avid, No mater what I choose as a device in the JVC or Generic selection, I can't open the capture window.  The "capture" selection in the toolset menu is gray and won't open.

Has anyone else had this problem???

ha ha. been waiting two years and a half years for that one. Hopefully come Jun MC3.0 will deliver on that one. If you need it soon, there are alternative NLEs.

Welcome to your version of Avid that does NOT work with JVC formats - the latest version (5.8.3) works fine with the JVC formats (but not 24). As amitzinman said,
