Hi I got the codes and I installed the Avid Free DV.  I see it in my programs so I know I have it.  It has a .dbd extension on it and after going to the Internet and downloading programs that work with that extension I can't open it.  What program does it need to open it?  My computer is up to specs on what Avid Free DV needs to run.  What do I do?  I get ADM_DSOUND_MIXER_OPEN_ERROR when I try to open it.  My pixels are right but the editor just pops off...

Free DV is no longer an Avid product. If you are trying to run it on Vista, it won't.

That error is nearly always caused by having an incompatible sound card.  If you search the forums for "realtek" you will find a lot of posts about it, most of which solved the problem by installing a Soundblaster Audigy 2 card.

In addition, like BLKDOG said, FreeDV is no longer supported.
