I recently switched to Mozilla FireFox and have found that I am no longer able to log on to Avid Community even though I have cookies enabled for this site.

I even requested a new password thinking this may be the problem before associating it with the change of browser.

The site is negotiable but logging on not possible.

Using IE6 I found I could once again log on.

Does anyone know what needs to be set in FireFox to overcome the problem or is FireFox simply incompatible with the site.

I've been using Firefox here for over 2 years.  Have you cleared the cache and the Avid cookies on Firefox before trying to logon again?  Are you certain that you used the correct username and password when you tried Firefox?

What version of Firefox are you using?  If it's old, the latest version could maybe make a difference.

I have cleared the cache and cookies from firefox - same result.

Username and password exactly the same as used in IE6 (password copy & paste so no chance of a typo). There must be something else. Latest version of FF but not the beta. Have not had problems with any other site.

What have you enabled post install?

Nothing special here.  I'm not sure what's happening to keep you from logging in.  Have you made sure that this site is allowed to store cookies?  I don't think I had to do that but it wouldn't hurt to explcitly allow it.

That was it.

I had enabled cookies for this site, firefox inserted a double entry so I deleted one.

Checking, after your last post, I found that there was no entry in respect of this site so I re-entered, again 2 entries so I left them both and came out of options - privacy.

Now able to log-on using firefox.

On checking the sites enabled for cookies found there is now only 1 entry for this site  - a simple bug in firefox?

I miss the Avid forums.  We (Avid Liquid) moved from here to Pinnacle a few months ago.
