I am no longer able to obtain deck control of my BVW-D75 beta deck. I have control of every other deck in our machine room but not the beta. The other edit suites have control of this beta deck as well so I don't think it's a patch panel problem. I have auto-configured and also selected "generic deck" in the deck configurations. Video and audio signal is getting to the avid, just not the deck control. My RS 232 to RS 422 converter is working properly for all decks except for the beta. The other editor here thinks that I can't get it to work because I am a girl but I don't think that's it since he can't get it to work either. I have brought the deck into my edit suite to hook it up directly to the avid (using a different remote cable) and it's still not working. I have deleted my MCState, Site_Attributes, and Site_Settings.avs in my settings folder and I have created new user settings and new projects. I also upgraded to 2.7.7 from 2.5.2. Nothing is working to get the avid to see the beta deck (all other decks still work). I feel like I have exhausted all options but there must be something obvious that I am missing.
My Configuration: Avid Adrenaline running Media Composer ver. 2.7.7, HP xw8000 XP service pack 2, Xeon 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM
Rather than using auto-configure, do the configuration manually - the channel on mine for Sony Betcam SX is "direct on COM1". And try the BVW-75 template instead of generic - it should work with your 75D.

I have tried this already but it still doesn't work. It's only for this deck and I don't know why it decided to stop working. This worked last week. It's so weird. I can see my other 2 beta sp decks, 2 digi beta decks, and 1 dv deck.

OOOH !
Can you connect the Beta deck directly to another computer with RS 232/422 control ? Or anything else that would control the Beta deck via RS 422 ?
Can you swap the RS 422 cable ?

Does the BSP remote to any other machine directly ?
I hate television. I hate it as much as I hate peanuts. But I can't stop eating peanuts.

Does the deck function normally otherwise ? Can you record bars on it etc shuttle is it configured on the remote 9 pin in or out etc ?
Ignore the problem being your a girl comment , dozens of times I've seen a big angry editor ranting about something not working only for a calm female assistant to come in and fix the problem.
It works directly with our other avids that have RS 232/422 and I have tried different cables. I still cannot get it to work and I don't know why it would just stop working all of a sudden.
Try swapping your keyspan/rosetta adapter with one of the other bays. IF it doesn't work after that, download the latest drivers from whatever website is appropriate for your 422 device and see if maybe loading those shakes something loose.

Happened to myself, I have to agree.
Have you had any luck capnd ?
No luck yet. I actually started working on something else so I still have to try to reload drivers like BLKDOG suggested. Thanks for all the help you guys! I really appreciate it! I'll update this post with any new results.
Sorry I couldn't give you a fix .
sounds like the deck is being a girl. Are you sure the deck is not just old and tired?
I think we need a few more digital HD formats
I'm old and tired it's no fun.
...and how old are you ?
