I know I have to log in, but I filled out the info and received no password. I have just gotten the download anyways. When I tried to login with what I thought would be a good password, they reset my password and sent me a new one. (of course I never got the original one) Anyway I'm downloading 2.8.3 as we speak. Email is such a joke these days. Can't even get the important ones because of all the crap.

After applying for a download center password I got this answer from Avid:
To avail of this service your system must be covered by a valid Avid support contract. If you have any questions please contact your local Avid office or reseller Kind regards.
Well, I thought they changed their download workflow …
Avid has to enter each registration by hand. They used to get 10-15 requests a month. Now they're getting 10 - 15 per minute.
So, some things are bound to fall through the cracks. I will send this to them and have someone contact you today.

I'm a bit confused I'm a registered 5.8 user without a service contract do I qualify?
I've given my details and they say that I don't if not then why I thought that everybody was allowed the point upgrade...

Ok so I spoke with the folks in charge of registration to the DL center and they are taking care of this for you guys. You should be all set later today.
Very, Very Important though....
You MUST have registered your software in order to get access to the DL center. If you have not registered your software, you will get a kickback that says you can't register witth the DL center.
Let us know if you have any more problems.

Hi there..... I apologize for the bounce back you received from Avid. the autoresponse has been corrected.
I did ask that jeff handle this manually and he did report back that your email address shows an MC and XPro in our SAP system wth both registered to this email address but with two separate companies and two different addresses.
Can you emai me privately with the company and address you want in the system?

Feel free to call me in the future and we can resolve quickly. I know your frustrated but we are trying to streamline the downloads so they are in one place only. Makes it easier for everyone outside of Avid. The ESD site always generates an autoresponse so the first email may have gone to your spam folder.
Apologies that you werent able to find it.... next time pick up the phone or email me directly. I am usually online.
