Thanks BLKDOG - yeah, I'm not going to be making a living off of it for a while (seeing as how I've only learned FCP and that will be paying bank for a while)...but it's another tool I want to master in case I ever decide to venture out of freelance to broadcast.
Mark.
Okay, I got an answer from Avid Education Sales today. I spoke with Brian and he said:
"The upgrade for students is available. Any academic version of XpressPro or MC of Avid can be upgraded to a commercial MC license any time after students graduate (no 30 day limit) for $1,500.00. There is no anticipated end date for this student to commercial upgrade it is an ongoing program available to all students. There used to be an offer to upgrade for $999.00 for students but that was a time limited program that is no longer available."
I think that makes this relatively clear. Feel free to prove me wrong on this, however.
$1500?! Final Cut is starting to not sound that bad of an idea...
*kidding.. heh.
