While not on the floor at NAB this year, Avid did some great stuff. One example was the DS Users Dinner (known as the MeatFest) at Yoli's Tuesday night in Vegas.
I have never been to a Avid event where the Avid Exec/personnel to Avid User ratio was higher. Kirk, Marianna, Brenda, Bill Admans, Steve mcNeil, and more I just can't remember right now, all showed up, took the heat from the DS crowd and looked everyone in the eye and just plain communicated. No stage, no scripts, just an true back and forth communications session (before the meat). That group being there spoke volumes.
They also hosted some very small group focus groups offiste and heard what we had to say, no holds barred, no moderators (ok, Kevin was in my group, but I didn't get moderated!). This finally feels like a Tewks group that is really going to try and turn this big boat around. And they have a lot of work to do.
Good job Avid! Now, is it too late to change that DX name? ;-)
oh hell, I meant to post this on the General and OT forum...can you guys move this over? Thanks.
like the lottery spots say "you have to play to win!"
