I am new to this forum, so please be kind.

I am using Avid Xpress 4.6. I had installed for 3 years on a desktop, but that desktop exploded(literally exploded)

I have installed Avid on a DELL Optiplex GX620. I think I have gotten every function to work, but whenever I go to save a title I get this:

module exited unexpectedly*

Could you tell us what version of QT and what OS (I assume XP but ya' never know) you're working on?

For XDV 4.6 you should be running QT 6.5.1.  Try installing that and see if it helps.

How are you saving the titles..?

Are you using "Save title as", are you closing the window? Is this the titles tool or Marquee?

I've tried saving both ways.

It's just the regular title tool.

Just curious...are you saving to your system drive? Do you have an external drive? Different directory(s)?

Ok, so what I'm going to  suggest is that you first create a new project and a new user. If you still have the problem in the new project, uninstall the Avid software completely and reinstall it and see if that fixes anything.

If I have to uninstall/reinstall do I need to save anything before the uninstall?

No. But, you might want to back up your project files if you are the paranoid type. ;)

I believe what Blkdog is inferring, btw, is that there is probably a file that is accessed when you try to save your title that has gotten corrupted. Reinstalling will replace it. :)

Did you uninstall the software and reinstall? Did you try a new project and a new user?
