I figured something was up when I asked if v3 was going to be available for the Adreneline and DX and he said "yes...um..um but the firmware...there is something about the firmware." I hope my new Mojo DX will play nice with the Adreneline.
Thanks Everyone

It will, just be advised that Mojo DX has analog audio ins, but no other analog connections, in or out.

JVR: December is the new June
?? I heard from my source it's slated for Monday. That's definitely June, and I hope it happens.
Michael.
I heard from my source it's slated for Monday.
Now, Michael, that would be speculation...
I can't say it will be Monday, but it WILL be in June!

Sorry... I should know better...
For whenever it's released, though...I can't wait. I saw a demo on Tuesday and it's very, very nice.
Hey everyone:
Has there been any word (definite OR speculation) in regards to AVID having putting pressure on themselves to fully embrace a myriad of XDCAM workflows? There's a number of issues we've been having in regards to how MC deals with XDCAM discs, and were curious to see if any solutions are coming on out. Here's a link to my specific problems on the MC forum:http://community.avid.com/forums/t/59424.aspxCheers!
Would be more interested if Avid could come up with update pricing for existing MC/MCA users. In my opinion a contentious issue for the last 3 years.
Only forthcoming answer from Avid is "working on it". Followed by another release another sting to existing owners and "working on it"
Please apply some "New Thinking" to update paths for your existing core MCA and above customer base!!! The current thinking predates Meridian and is very tired.
It is my understanding that those who purchased MC Software 2.5 or higher before March 17th will be offered a $295 upgrade to MC 3. This will be download only from Avid.

Giving a grace period is nothing new. The reality is when you have a promotion like this there will be a cut off date.

The stupid situation is that I can upgrade Pro to MC soft for $395 (download). Get MC3 free and plug in the Adrenaline. Or pay $995 to upgrade my MCA dongle. No evidence of "new thinking" going on in Avid about this.

... and will cost more than the new dual quad-core, 4GB RAM, Nvidia FX3700 equipped workstation required to operate it (with MC 3.0 software), whereas most other similar BOB / converters (except with full analog connections) cost only 20% - 40% of the workstation price. It seems like the Avid marketdroids who came up with the DX hardware pricing were a totally different bunch of people with a totally different understanding of the market than they folks who came up with the software pricing. Guess they are unaware of the constantant downward pressure on content production costs as exemplified by http://broadcastengineering.com/news/networks-seeks-reality-show-costs-0602/

Boy, ain't it the truth. A vaster wasteland now than ever before. The lowest common denominator for everything.
