When will this be avid certified? (Make it soon please, I'm dying to get the new pc in!)

It will never be qualified for Xpress DV (a discontinued product).

Here  you can see that the XW8600 is qualified for the Q2 release of MC and Symphony.

Sorry for the ommission: I am moving up to MC. Need to know for when building the new system...

It appears it will be certified with the release of Media Composer 3.0, which has a wish-date release of June 2008.  Don't expect it then, though, and you won't be disappointed when/if it gets pushed back.  Avid doesn't typically give release dates for software updates, so this is outside the norm and is always subject to change.
