Anybody know what time Avid is supposedly making their "Sunday" announcements? If you find anything, please post here. I'd love to hear where they've finally landed with their pricing...
Chris
Yep, eager to know the final confirmed pricing too and perhaps see some snaps of the new hardware.I'm pretty sure the Avid event start's around 7pm Chris.
And for Vegas, that's Pacific Daylight Time.

Nuthin yet, huh?
Doesn't look like anyone who was there feels like filling us in. I guess we wait until the official stuff tomorrow. Sigh.
Patience, that won't prevent us from working (editing) !

They're probably hung over.
The L2 mentions that Frank Capria has now become product manager for Media Composer.
This was posted on the L2 by Terence Curren:
Mojo SDI - $2,495Mojo DX & Media Composer - $9,995Nitris DX & Media Composer - $14,995Nitris DX & Symphony & CPU(?) - $36,995
(updated with CPU info)
The last one supposedly includes CPU. I wonder about the middle two.
If these are the official prices I am impressed. I expected the Nitris DX to be pitched a little higher than the present price for Adrenelain.
It will be iinteresting to see what kind of prices the last few stocks of Adrenelain fly off the shelves for.

At these pricepoints im interested... but then again i dont have to buy a new computer to use these hardware upgrades... those working on computer with one pci-e slot might have to... anyone who knows which pci-e port the hardware uses? ie 1x, 4x, 8x, or 16x?
The symphony software is still expensive though, if you count 10.000$ for the cpu and 12.500$ for the nitris box.
And im curious to see if the 'new thinking' also applies to the shipping and buggyness of said products. The 'old thinking' way of shipping was announcing at the NAB that you can buy in june, eventually releasing a bug ridden version after the IBC in september, and upgrades to one that works properly in november or december ;)

Nitris DX & Media Composer - $14,995 - $2,495 MC soft = $12,500, what indeed has been announced earlier !
So does this mean $7500 for a BOB Mojo please
Is this new thinking?

Nope - Same Same Same Old
Unless there is more to the announcements that has not yet leaked but I won't be holding my breath.
The price difference between the Symphony software and the MC software seems unjustifiable. What features does Symphony have over MC? More CC features, Universal SD mastering..... that's it, right?
