How do you take a sequence, and export it in a format that can be posted to facebook? I took a "small" 3 minute clip, and using the export to Quicktime, which worked with the exception of stuttering audio in the beginning. The file is 100 MB though. Is this normal? Isn't that way to big for an internet file.

Hi,
Sorensen Squeeze and Canopus Procoder are the two main programs people are using to convert video for the web. They are purpose-built for conversion, so you get more control over the final product than you do coming out of Media Composer.
good luck,Carl
There is no such thing as a video emergency. My Demo Website
Carl is right. Both those programs work well.
Instead of exporting a Quicktime movie, try a "Quicktime Reference" export to Canopus or Sorenson. This will speed up the process.

Hello,
I am using Quicktime movie with H264 CODEC. Deinterlace the video, 320 x 240, 20 frames/s.
It work very well, exllent quality.

This questions been asked a few times recently - maybe the answer should be a Sticky?
This should help you...

Another problem. From MC, I did a "send to" encoding>sorrenson. I tried QT Ref but it wouldn't support Long GOP. I did a Transcode to DNxHD-TR 145 MXF, which worked fine. When trying to import the QT Ref and Audio file into Sorrenson, it crashes. "squeeze app encountered problem and needs to close ......"
So I exported from MC as QT Movie. That works, however the first 0-20 seconds, the audio stutters, then it works itself out and plays fine. ???
An alternative is Cleaner XL from Descret
you can run it on another machine and it supports drop folders so you have realiability of your results
Yes with the huge amount of codecs sometimes transcoding is require and when this happens getting as close as you can to the final resolution of file that you want to speed things up
"Another problem. From MC, I did a "send to" encoding>sorrenson. I tried QT Ref but it wouldn't support Long GOP."
Do Video Mixdown before "send to"
The mixdown will only transcode the footage again to whatever your project settings
PegasusNZ:The mixdown will only transcode the footage again to whatever your project settings
Just try and see.
Yes it will, but it will also correct things like IBBIBBBBBBBBBBBB that will arise during editing back to the correct IBBBBBBBBBBBBBBP sequences. The first will not play out to a deck, the second will.
Sorry I thought the thread was about how to quickly get a sequence to a video playable on the internet not correcting encoder/editing errors! My Bad!
Yes, you're correct, but for the same reason that playouts of broken sequences don't work, neither will a broken sequence work well (or at all) in Sorenson.
