    QT-Reference WHITE

From an HDV project, I transcoded video and exported to QT-Reference in new sequence.  I can see the video just fine in Avid Media Composer, however, when I import QT-Reference into DVDit Pro HD, the video is a white only. Any ideas?  I really need to get this project done.  This is day 4.  It only took me one day to edit.

Is DVDit on the same CPU as your Media Composer software?

I don't use DVDit, but I've seen the same happen when exporting MXF media from my MCA to Sorenson Squeeze and then playing it back in the Squeeze player. Although the screen turns white, my resulting mpeg-2s are perfectly OK and I can use them in Encore CS3 without any problems.

I was under the impression that you can't create a QT reference file from MXF media, something to do with the Long GOP.  I've been working on an HDV project and have been opening my MXF project bin in an SD project and transcoding to OMF media then exporting my QT reference.  This works fine and gives nice results.  I export into Sorenson Squeeze and make my MPEGs then burn with Adobe Encore.  Lovely workflow which works every time.

I've been working like this for a long time now but with SD media going out to Squeeze.  Sound as though we're following the same workflow.

Well, I don't know about that. We export QT refs from MXF media all the time to DVD studio Pro.

We see the same thing when trying to export QT References or "same as source" when outputting DVCPro HD footage.

Have you tried outputting a complete (non-reference) QT movie, or is the program simply too long?

    Re: QT-Reference WHITE

Problem solved - sort of.  I download the AVid codecs from the knowledge base and installed.  The video is now visible in DVDit ProHD, but is very jittery.  It also does NOT play in QT player.
