Andrew, allow me to clarify. My only concern is I don't see us in a posture to invest in DX at this point in time, especially with a transition from Unity to ISIS/Interplay in the wings, just about ready to go on. So given that we will stay with Adrenaline as it is for the foreseeable future, I would like some assurance that the support for the current Adrenaline customer base will continue unimpeded, without pressure from Avid to upgrade.

Larry Rubin:, without pressure from Avid to upgrade.
That's not guaranteed, however this pressure is indeed the way they'll do (or not) an interesting upgrade policy for MCA owners.

But Sep, it seems to me that integration of DX into the ISIS/Interplay environment is going to be a trip into uncharted and dangerous seas, and as one who has survived a recent major Unity shipwreck, I'm NOT keen on tempting fate twice!

Especially now that there is a "theoretically" cheaper DX box that has, atleast on paper, the functionality I was supposed to get with Adrenaline when it was sold to me 4 years and & 12,000 dollars(local) of Avid assurance ago.

I didn't know you had a bad experience with that equipment ! I am not aware of DX ISIS/Interplay integration issues, not being confronted to this.
I doubt that anybody has at this point. I just don't look forward to being a field test guinea pig. Well on second thought, maybe I wouldn't mind it so much if I were to be a paid beta field tester!
AndrewAction: understand your concerns. However as it is MY money, rather than taxpayers money, I just do not want Avid to continue FLEECING me, or anyone else, at MC software upgrade times. This indeed has already been discussed here when the unfair MC soft upgrade vs MCA upgrade has been intriduced. Avid said, they will revise their position, I hope time has come now to repair this prejudice.
sep:Avid sais, they will revise their position
Less than 3 months ago a very helpful Avid customer services rep replied on these forums clearly stating that the 5x price differential was a fair reflection of the cost of updating the Adrenaline box. For me that means in Avids current view there is no price prejudice.

OK......and??????
That is the new mojo DX box, pretty nice back end, :). Now you can count the inputs and stuff..

It would be nice to see a high resolution file of this.
sorry, I only could sneak the one pic out!
These aren't uncharted seas in any dangerious sense. In real terms, DX doesn't seem to bring much more to the table than a solid, reliable, non-bottleneck connection, i.e PCIe instead of horrible firewire. Changing the interface alone should bring no compatability issues, only performance enhancement. This is what they should've done with the DNA line on inception, so in a way, it's not so much a leap forward as a grasp of a needed stability and throuput assurance. Something that we should've had for years.
That's all right, Zeke - thanks for posting what you have. I'd just like to see how it compares with the back end of an Adrenaline DNA box.
