    photo montage

When creating a photomontage is there a way to put an in point and a out point in the bin so I can drag the clips on a sequence all together without using the composer window?

Yes, set your bin to script view, select all clips, mark ins and outs (it's a good idea to step forward say 50 frames before setting your IN so that you can more easily add transitions).

Then just drag all the clips to the timeline

But you could have done that in Xpress too.
